FITTING GUIDE & INSTALLATION DETAILS

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1 - Cleaning
a. Thoroughly clean roof sheeting and bead of gutter where bonding will take place.
b.
Wipe surfaces with 'Clear Priming Fluid' (MEK) - obtainable from plumbing suppliers.

STEP 2 - Preparation
Tite-R-Bond™ must be used!
One light wipe over surface being bonded to.

STEP 3 - Temperature
Leaf Free should be fitted at or above 20°C. If temperature is lower, use a heat gun to warm the roof/gutter contact surface.

STEP 4 - Fitting
Follow instructions below for best outcome. With correct fitting, the high bond adhesive vulcanizes to the surface, creating a long term, reliable fixing system. Bond strength is dependent on substrate condition and correct preparation of the surface.

FITTING GUIDE

General preparation - Remove all debris from gutter and downpipes.

All Installations:
1. Contact surfaces must be clean, dry and in good condition. (Never install in damp conditions)
2. Remove blue backing liner.
3. Press adhesive firmly onto round bead of the gutter.
4. Allow the mesh to sag a little - do not fix under tension.

TILE ROOFING
- See Fig 1
NOTE: Before placing the mesh under second row of tiles.
a. Make a cut in the mesh at the centre of each tile. The cut runs vertically from the point where the mesh will go under the second row of tile through to the top edge of mesh. This creates short panels of mesh.
b. Tuck the flaps of mesh under the second row of tiles. The tiles will now "bed down" on the mesh.
c. Where the second row of tiles cannot be lifted, (end of run, hips etc) cut the mesh to the bottom of the second row of tiles.
d. Trim mesh to fit neatly around ridge capping.
e. A coloured roof & gutter silicone will hold the mesh in place.

CORRUGATED ROOFING
- See Fig 2
NOTE: On metal roof fitting make sure that adhesive makes first contact with bottom of the profile, then mould adhesive up each side.
a. Follow steps 1 - 3.
b. Make a cut of approx 30mm down through the mesh over each rib.
c. Press the adhesive tape firmly into the bottom and up the sides of the corrugation. The cut will expand at the top of the corrugation.

METAL DECK ROOFING
- See Fig 3
a. Follow steps 1 - 3.
b. Slice the mesh sufficiently to permit the ribs to protrude through.
